OPENING PRAYER
EXAMPLE

This candle is a sign of Christ in our midst and Jesus says to us now:

We now reminded of Jesus, the FIRST and GREATEST Evangelizer, being here with us. He wishes to speak to us about the necessity of spiritual birth to enter the kingdom of God.

A reading from John 3:1-8 (quiet reflection)

Let us respond in prayer to Jesus' saving word. Jesus, to enter the kingdom, You tell us we must be born from above, be born anew . . .

Thank you for the gift of our Baptism and help us to live out this dying and rising in You each day of our lives.

Your kingdom is the gift of salvation . . .

Thank You, Jesus, for Your mercy and for freeing us from all that oppresses us, especially sin and death.

Jesus, You remind us that to work signs and wonders is not enough to enter the kingdom . . .

May we grow in our relationship with You as our Lord and Savior.

Let us pray.

God, our Father, You have given us Your Son to be the Light of the world. In us, Jesus' life-giving Spirit conquers the evils of this world. Renew our life! Let us accept and rejoice in the forgiveness of our sins. Be present as we consider how we enter Your kingdom and how we can share this Good News with others.
